 Quite possibly about being in an abusive relationship but not having the courage or the ability to leave and waiting for the 'keys' to be handed over so you can escape (unless you kill yourself).  So instead asking for them to turn the other way and leave you alone so you can get back to living a life worth living because this isn't working for you anymore
