About
so, well, since this is an avenged board, i think i'll start by saying how i got into them.
i must of first heard avenged around the age of twelve of thirteen. for a short while i only had two of their songs; unholy confessions and chapter four. i then got the rest of the waken the fallen album, and listened to it non stop for a couple of weeks. i soon bout the other albums, and being my ipod was new, i can distinctly remember one of my friends going;
"lexxi, how come you;ve only got one band on your ipod?"
but yeh. that was the initial obsessive-compulsive stage. but then i didn't know much about the band members themselves. i already had the opinion that this was the best drummer in the world, that this was the best guitar duo, that this was the best bass, and the best singing. i just didn't know who did these drums, guitars, bass and vocals.
so then came the obsession with the band members for a while. watched all excess, and fell in love with all off them. these were not only amazing musicians, but great guys, with awesome senses of humor, and great personalities.
and some where here, we have the bit which moulded avenged to be my favourite band. they were what was there for me when i had nothing; they were what i could lose myself in, this is what could keep me sane. granted, i didn't stay completely sane. but i stayed a lot saner by the fact i had something to hold onto, something to be grounded in; avenged's music.
so yeh. whatever fads come and go, no matter if i start to like other bands, avenged will always be my favourite band. not only for the music, but for matt, brain, zacky, johnny and always jimmy. i've never seen them live, and maybe now never will, but there was always a spot saved for them at the front of each journal i wrote in, and i never filled it. and now? now i feel sorta lost. an avenged without jimmy is not an avenged at all, in many ways. r.i.p. jimmy.
