This in an entirely new forum on RE, so we plan to make it work the first time. =] No one can really define poetry, or separate poems entirely from songwriting, so it’s important to keep in mind we all have different interpretations. - DO NOT STEAL ANYONE’S WRITTEN WORK It is blatantly plagiarism, which is completely forbidden from the entire message board. If you plan to use lyrics from another band, you must state so. This goes for any material you might use in your own. You must reference it, if it is not yours. If you are caught stealing someone’s work, you will face serious consequences. - DO NOT POST NEGATIVE FEEDBACK. Whilst a user may ask for feedback, let’s go with the general saying: “If you have nothing nice to say, don’t say it at all.” However, constructive criticism is allowed “ providing it is constructive. There is to be no rude remarks or harsh comments posted in this area. The admin team will deal with it accordingly however, if an issue ever arises. - DO NOT INCLUDE SENSITIVE CONTENT. Whilst poems and songs are YOUR OWN WORK, do not post work that may offend or upset other users. Content such as rape or self-harm is not allowed to be posted. Your threads will be deleted, despite being your personal work. If you comply with this point, there should not be any locked or deleted threads. If your poem/song includes content about abuse, murder or anything along those lines, please post a forewarning. You can do this in the topic description, when creating a thread, as well as at the beginning of your post, before your poem/song. - One thread per poem/song This is the only forum where you can create individual threads “ hell, we’re telling you to. Unless there is an explanation as to why you might post several poems/songs in the same thread, there should be one thread created for one poem/song. The title of the poem/song should be the title of the thread. It’s easy enough to follow. - Don’t spam on someone’s thread. It’s even more important here, because this is someone’s work, and by spamming on it, you’re showing little regard for your fellow users. Discussion might be instigated (as in, perhaps talking about the meaning behind a poem or song), but as soon as that turns into spam, posts will be deleted. Keep these points in mind whenever you’re creating a thread, or posting your work. If you feel these rules haven’t been upheld by particular users, contact any member of the admin team, and we’ll try to deal with it as effectively as possible. =] |
