We're still in the garage band phase because the other five girls are still in their mid-teens and they can't play at a club.
I'm thinking of quitting because I'm moving after highschool so I can live with my Aunt. |

Its getting better as i practice. if you use your diaphragm rather than your throat , it sounds better, and you wont fuck your throat up. Also try screaming into a pillow, then you wont piss off your family  |

Point to add to that, if you've ever had any operations on your throat, so like having your tonsils out and stuff, it's automatically harder to scream afterwards.
I mean i had mine out last year and i still have problems shouting let alone screaming :/ |

Posts: 4235 | February 27th, 2008 at 12:16pm It's been said before, but really make sure you don't use your throat.
Support yourself with plenty of air.
Make sure you're completely hydrated, and keep water with you at all times.
If your throat starts hurting, you're probably not doing it right for starters, but also, don't keep going. Give it a rest, give it time for vocal chords to recuperate, and try again using a different technique.
If you sing loudly, and slowly progress to screaming, it'll be easier.
You can't expect to scream with the click of your fingers.
It takes time and practice. |

Posts: 18 | April 3rd, 2008 at 07:14pm Use lots of water aswell, Especially if you're doing something live, not just singing along to a CD, Because I do screaming/growling in my other band, And I usually stop to have some water while the guitarist is doing a solo or a riff that i dont sing in, Otherwise your thoart will get really dry, and then it ends up coming out like a dying animal. Like it's been said, Dont use your thoart, Use your gut. |
