| jemi owhen suleevhan In The City Of Evil Age: 20 Gender: Female Posts: 4235 | We've all noticed RE expand over the past few months in particular, so we feel that we need to create, elaborate or modify certain rules for the board. No one can force you to read and comply. But, if you plan on having a generally good time on the boards, then you should take note and follow these rules. If you feel that there are things missing, or perhaps something a little confusing, I'm leaving the thread unlocked for feedback etc. for a while. This is your chance to let us know what you think should be included, excluded or changed. 1. BEING A NEW RE USER Way-hay! A Newb! Welcome to Radiant Eclipse! Now that you’ve joined the first thing we ask you to do is go to the “I’m New” board. Not sure where it is? Then click here. Post one topic of your own, introducing yourself. You can tell us anything about yourself, but make sure you at least include your name, so we know what to call you! You can also include any info about your age, location, hobbies, interests etc., so we can get to know you a bit better. As long as you’re comfortable revealing that sort of information though. Also, if English isn’t your first language, then please tell us “ that way, we can help you out as you need, and we won’t pester you if we can’t completely understand your posts. =] Once you’ve made your introduction thread, feel free to post around the board. The “S’up Y’all?” section of the board is a general chatting place, where you’ll be able to get to know the other users better. You can always check back on your intro thread to see the many warm welcomes you’ll receive. This can easily be done by clicking on the SUBSCRIBE option at the bottom of every page, underneath the quick reply box. This feature allows a handy email to be sent your way, every time a new reply is made on the thread since your last visit. 2. THREADS/TOPICS Duplicate threads, etc. Our RE message board is kept rather ‘neat’ by moderators and administrators, so it’s up to you to help the board stay this way. If you want to make a new thread, be sure to use the search button (which is located at the bottom of pages), to check if there’s already the same, or similar, thread that exists. If there is a thread that is alike to what you wanted to make, please use the pre-existing thread. However, please don’t make pointless threads, as mods/admins will lock them If you should find a duplicate thread or pointless thread, please report it. Do this by clicking the report button, located in the top right hand corner of each post, near the edit/quote tabs. Inactive Threads Please do not post on topics if they have been inactive for over 30 days. Only do so if what you’re going to post is completely relevant, or maybe new information, about that particular topic. This rule doesn’t so much apply to threads in Other Bands section or S’up Y’all?, but it is important not to bring back dead topics, especially about news etc. Page Limit When a thread reaches 300 pages, it will be locked, and a new thread can be created. This is to save bandwidth. So if a mod/admin isn’t online at the time the thread reaches its page limit, just create the new thread, and report the old one. The person who posts the last post on page 299 is responsible for creating the new thread. That just helps us to maintain an easy thread-making system. Posting Photos If you are posting pictures/photos in any thread (in particular, in the Band Photos section), please limit your post to about five-six photos. Anymore than that should be divided into a new post. This is so the thread doesn’t become overloaded with hundreds of photos per post, and generally keeps the thread a little easier to manage. Also, please be aware that depending on the size of the image, it may stretch the page. This is quite annoying, so if you have a large image, just post the URL instead. News, Rumours etc. As an A7X message board, we love to hear any recent news updates about the band. If you have a piece of information you’d like to share with the rest of the board, you may decide to create a thread. However, sometimes it’s not worth creating a thread for a more insignificant piece of news. If that’s the case, there’s usually a relevant thread where you can post it. Also, if you’re going to post tour dates, or bits of news, please make sure you source it! If you’ve found it from a website, please include the website. Likewise for magazine articles, etc. This helps us to separate trash from treasure basically, and often, misinformation leads to rumours being started which is something that becomes a huge nuisance. 3. CHAT SPEAK Just…. don’t do it. To be dead honest, another user is likely to saying something about it, if you use it. Feel free to use things like “lol” or “lmao” etc., but please no sentences like this: “oNgz!!11! U suK!” etc. We do understand if English isn’t your first language, however. But to every one in general “ please try to use correct grammar/spelling etc. to the best of your ability. That way, it’s easier to read each other’s posts. 4. PYRAMID QUOTING If you don’t know what pyramid quoting is: Number One: It makes looking through threads a complete nightmare! If you’re going to quote someone or something, please just quote the last message, or the message that is relevant to what you’re about to post. 5. SPAM For anyone that doesn’t know, spam is any off topic talk. So, if you’re in a thread about ‘Why the sky is blue?’, it’s against the rules to have an entire conversation about why the grass is green. Occasionally, you might get carried away, and perhaps post something a little off topic, but just be aware that if the spam persists, you’re likely to get a warning. We have a ‘What Are You Thinking’ thread, where you can spam your life away, so you’re free to use that. But just don’t spam. Yeah? 6. PROFANITY This board tolerates profanity, but only to a certain extent. We don’t mind ‘playful swearing’, (like, “Aww, fuck you! xD”) but we do mind swearing when it is used to offend/anger somebody (like, “Fuck you whore”). Just try to keep it to a minimum, and you’ll be safe. =] 7. PERSONAL INFORMATION Whilst RE users are truly lovely people, please don’t forget that Radiant Eclipse is a public internet message board. So please do not give out any personal information on this board, such as your last name, phone number, address, passwords etc. If for some reason you need to exchange personal details, do it through other means of communication, away from RE. The admin team cannot be held responsible for anything that might occur as a result of you giving out information. 8. ADMINISTRATORS AND MODERATORS Currently on RE, there is one admin, Stormy, and two moderators:], Becki, and Jules. We’re not trying to make life difficult for you, and we sure don’t want to tell you guys off. But chances are, if we ask you to stop doing something, or warn you, it’s probably against the rules. Our jobs are to help run this message board, and make it run as smoothly as possible. We may intervene if there is a dispute between users, but just remember we’re trying to help YOU. We all put in a huge amount of work to keep you guys happy, so please cut us some slack every now and again. We all have lives outside of RE, and it’s important for you guys to remember that. =] In saying that, if you feel as though you’ve been unfairly treated by one of us, you should contact another mod or Stormy. That way, we can deal with it immediately, and prevent any unfair judgements being made again. 9. PERSONAL ATTACKS/RESPECTING EACH OTHER This is a really important rule that, regardless of whether or not you’re a frequent RE user, you must comply with. Respect every user’s personal opinion/view/belief, even if you don’t necessarily agree with them. This board is open to discussion, but serious consequences will apply if you don’t respect each other. Don’t tell users that they’re wrong, or they’re dumb, or their opinion is stupid. It is totally offensive, and will be considered a personal attack. We’re all entitled to our opinions, and we’re even more entitled to speaking them. However, there are very fine boundaries, so please be aware. If you feel as though you have been personally attacked, please PM a mod/admin straight away. Or, you can report the particular post that you feel broke this rule. The admin team will deal with it as quickly and effectively as possible. 10. FAKE AND DUPLICATE ACCOUNTS Each RE user is entitled to ONE account. That is, one account per user “ no user is to create a second account. This also means users are not permitted to create a ‘fake’ user. Identity theft, or creating a false identity, is not only against the RE rules but is considered a criminal offence. This holds severe consequences, which we won’t go into details about, but we hope you understand the seriousness of it. Fortunately, the admin team have ways of determining a second account, and have therefore set out consequences that will apply to everyone: If you create a second account, or a fake account, it will be deleted, after a PM is sent, explaining the entire situation. Your original account will remain, but the admin team will be keeping a closer eye. Should you create another account (this being a third account), both your original account and the most recent duplicate will be deleted, and you will be banned. If you choose to join RE again, and still cause trouble on the site, you will be IP banned. Similarly, posting photos of other people, who you claim to be yourself, will result in being sent a warning, and all posts (where these photos are included) will be removed. Again, if you continue to cause trouble on the board after this warning, your account will be deleted. We will not be lenient on this issue. If you suspect that a user has a second account, or the user is a fake, please contact the admin team immediately. We guarantee that you’ll remain completely anonymous. 11. CONSEQUENCES AND WARNINGS The above rules are essential in making this message board work. It’s in everyone’s best interest to have an enjoyable time on this board. So there are consequences if these rules are not followed. Most commonly, you’ll receive a warning. If you’re constantly spamming, you can receive many warnings, without serious action being taken against your account. However, if the issue is more serious, and you have been involved in a personal attack etc., you may only receive one or two warnings, before your account is deleted. We’d prefer not to delete accounts at all, however, we will not hesitate to do so if you’re causing plenty of trouble on the board, and have received numerous reports about your behaviour. However, the admin team works together in determining whether or not you deserve a warning/ban, before administering it. Therefore, we go over the issue together, and it is usually a case of ‘majority rules’. No single mod or admin controls such decisions, so there should not be any biased decision-making. If the time arises, Dujo (the site owner) may be contacted, or Stormy may have the final call, yet this is very unlikely. If you feel you have been unfairly warned, please contact one of the admin team immediately, and we may re-evaluate our decision. If you believe you have been unfairly banned, you can contact Dujo through the site email: admin@radianteclipse.com. OR Stormy at: stormy_429@yahoo.com PLEASE PUT SOMETHING RELEVANT TO WHY YOU ARE EMAILING IN THE SUBJECT LINE SO SHE READS IT!!! |
